Easiest Method Of Making Goda Shankarpaali; Shakkarpaare; Diwali Sweets; Step Wise

Shankaarpaali
Hi All!
Navaratri are over and in a few days we would celebrate Deepawali, the festival of lights. It is now that time of the year when we clean up the house, buy new clothes and jewellery for the family and prep up for the festival.
Any celebration or festival is incomplete without sweets, savouries and good food. And Deepawali is the biggest festival for Hindus, so obviously, it is that time of the year when I gear up to make a lot of sweets and savouries for the family.

How To Make An Authentic Thai Red Curry or Gaeng Daeng At Home; A Vegan Version Of Thai Red Curry

Foodelicious- Thai Red Curry

Hi all!

In my previous post I have shared the recipe to Thai Red Curry Paste and in this post I will share the recipe towards the making of the curry. It’s a very simple recipe and gets ready in 10mins if the red curry paste is ready.

While the curry started  bubbling, I gave DH a taste of the curry and his instant reaction was it’s magical. I was ecstatic to hear that! Since a long time we were in search of a place that serves good authentic Thai Curry and now I  know for sure that I do not have to search a one…

How To Make Red Thai Curry Paste or Namprik Gaeng Daeng At Home; Review Of Borosil Sumo Amaze

Foodelicious-Thai Red Curry Paste

Hello all!
In my last post of Tandoori Aloo Sandwich using Borosil’s Jumbo Grill, I had mentioned that I would be reviewing two more of the Borosil products. So here’s my review on Borosil’s Sumo Amaze which is a 750W mixer grinder. The third Borosil product review would be posted very soon.

The mixer grinder has a neatly designed body made of dual colour ABS plastic.

It comes with three food grade stainless steel jars for blending (1.5L capacity), dry grinding (1.2L capacity) and a wet grinding jar (400ml capacity). The jars have a better capacity as compared to the jars of the mixer grinder I have been using.

Gojju Podi | Spice Mix/Masala From Karnataka Cuisine

Foodelicious-Gojju Podi

Hi all!!

Sharing another important spice mix used in Karnataka cuisine. This podi/spice mix/masala is used to make a traditional preparation called Gojju which is spicy-sweet-sour curry made using a select few vegetables and fruits. The most commonly used veggies and fruits are Okra, bittergourd, pineapple, mango, onion, tomato etc.

The freshly ground masala adds a better flavour to the gojju which tastes best with steamed rice.

अलुबुखारचे सार | Maharashtrian Style Plum & Coconut Saar/Soup | Vegan | Gluten Free | Dairy Free

DSC_0116.1

Hi All!

The fruit market is still flooded with stoned fruits like peaches, cherries and plums, giving me ample opportunity to cook with them. Living in the hot and humid zone of the country, my attempt is always at cooking simple dishes with my personal touch. If one checks on the recipes from my archives, would realise that most of them are fuss free and quick to make.

I mostly love eating my cherries or use them for garnishes but with the plums and peaches, I love to cook. Unlike North India, here, the plums we get are not the sweet kind and while creating recipes using the plums, I have to balance the sourness wisely with the sugar and spice, else they are too sour to eat.

As I have mentioned in my Smoked Cottage Cheese and Peas Curry my excitement about going for the IFBmeet in Bangalore and when I got to know recently that Kitchen Aid has thrown a cooking contest only for the participants of the IFBmeet, where we get a chance to win a Kitchen Aid Chopper, I was super excited. Who would not like to win a Kitchen Aid product, I sure do, fingers crossed!!

अक्का पणजीची गुळाची साटोरी | Akka Panaji’s Gulaachi Saatori | Happy 5th Anniversary Foodelicious | Step Wise Method

DSC_6188.1
Hi all!
Let me first begin by thanking all my readers for their constant support through my five years of blogging.
While I type this post my mind is wandering through the webbed memories of my childhood. Webbed, as their are many memories which are beautifully entwined with each other and unfolding one opens up so many, for which I would take time, but I would keep doing that through my posts especially when the fond memories are about food and the food I learnt from my Great grandmother whom we fondly called Akka Panaji.
