Egg Curry Version II and Eggless Sheermal Made In Tandoor; Step Wise

Egg Curry Version II

Hi all!
I cook various cuisines at home and really try to feed the family a variety of food. Home made food is always so healthy and nutritional too. When it comes to home cooked food, there are certain preparations which we call as comfort foods. They are easy to make and always a pleasure to stir up.
I am still on my sabbatical as kid writes his X board exam at the end of this session and I’m trying to be available for him in his crucial year. I might like to take up learning culinary skills if anything comes my way but all that are speculations, I have nothing concrete to speak about as of now.

Seemebadnekaayi Gojju ; Chayote Squash Curry Made In a Kannadiga Style ; Karnataka Cuisine

Seemebadnekaayi Gojju

Hi all!!

Gojju is a very popular preparation in Karnataka. It is slightly sweet, quite sour and also quite a spicy curry which is very popular in a Kannadiga household. A variety of vegetables are used to cook this popular curry, one of the most popular being Bendekayi Gojju but I have never heard any one trying the Chayote Squash or Seemebadnekayi for making the Gojju.

I experimented with the Chayote Squash and to my surprise it tasted really good. Also, the Chayote absorbed all the flavours very well. Hubby was extremely surprised and loved the preparation. A gojju preparation, steamed rice and some curds and one is sorted. Simple wholesome meal which is far better than any five star hotel’s meal.

लहसुनी टिंडली | Garlicky Ivy Gourd Curry | Step Wise

DSC_6022.02
Hi All!!
After posting a simple home style lotus stem curry, I’m posting yet another simple curry which can be made for the regular cooking. This makes use of the humble Ivy Gourd also called Coccinia or टिंडोरा which is a tropical vine. At many places it’s believed that if you eat this vegetable you lose your intelligence. It’s definitely a superstition and I can personally vouch for this gourd, as I’ve been eating this since my childhood, I have lost no intelligence till now Smile.

भेंन की सब्ज़ी| Lotus Stem Curry | Main Course | Side Dish | Low Calorie | Winner Of Only Event

DSC_5101.1

Hi All! Wishing all Mom's a very happy Mother's Day.

My friends who keep reading my posts and pictures believe that I keep cooking gourmet food every day and I find it very difficult to tell them it’s simple food that’s presented stylishly for my blog. I do not use any gourmet products in most of my cooking but with the ingredients available easily at home, I try to cook decent food. For me that’s the real challenge, with most basic ingredients how to cook different food. I must admit that a home-maker’s job is ever challenging but these daily challenges make me feel motivated and keep me going and of course when readers send me mails praising my food, it’s a bonus. I look forward to your reactions, criticism and praise, so do keep them coming.

कांदा कैरी कोचकयी |Kanda-Kairi Kochkayi | Instant Pickle Using Raw Mangoes and Onions| Maharashtrian Cuisine

DSC_3784-001
Hi all!
Last few days have been torturous for me, I had severe sinusitis and to add to it,  I was facing dry eyes problem too. Normal vision was getting affected plus there was an unbearable eye pain and head ache. Light was a no no..so with great difficulty I had posted both the event round ups as I could not bear the glare of the laptop screen too…
The problem still persists and it will take some time to get rectified so thought of posting a quick recipe which is just apt for this mango season and will not make me sit in front of the screen for a long time. I know it’s kind of painful to sit in front of the screen but sitting idle is not my cup of tea.. so decided to type for short durations in a day and whenever the post will get completed, will post it. No deadlines to follow currently..

The mere thought of this preparation can make my mouth salivate any time. I have always marvelled, that how in olden days with few ingredients in hand, such tasty preparations were made and this preparation surely falls in that category. It’s an instant hit with every one who have tasted it and surely loved by my family too. It’s a perfect delight for people who love spicy food.
