Three Recipes- Arugula/Roquette leaf Pesto Two Ways; Bruschetta With Arugula Pesto, Product Review- Maharaja Whiteline Flora Mixer Grinder

Arugula Pesto- Two Ways

Hi!

After moving to Mumbai, I have explored many more exotic vegetables which were not easily available in Chennai, one of them is the Arugula or Roquette Leaves. I'm in love with this leafy vegetable which has a sharp taste and adds a punch to the food with it’s distinguishing flavour. It has a taste which is a milder combination of radish and mustard leaves put together.

With the winter setting in and loads of winter bounty to cherish, it's soups and salads for us at nights. I'm going to post  more  recipes using the Arugula, as it's a great ingredient for salads, topping for crostini and appetisers.

Avarekaalu Akkitari Uppittu Made Using Borosil’s Digi Kook Rice Cooker- A Product Review

Foodelicious-Avarekaalu Akkitari Uppittu
Hi!
Here comes the last and final review of the three products, that I had received from Borosil . The previous two reviews can be read here and here.
I can very happily say that this product has become an innate part of my kitchen. My every day rice gets cooked in the Borosil Digi Kook Rice Cooker and I’m very happy with the outcome.
Not only is the rice cooker very sleek and smart looking, with a great finish but the final product cooked in it has always turned out very well. There are days when I get busy with work and the delay timer on the rice cooker has come to my rescue there.
I put the rice in the rice cooker with the delay timer ‘ON’ and get absorbed in my work. The delay timer helps me get a well cooked rice at a time I want. Once the rice gets cooked, it moves into ‘Keep Warm’ mode, so one always gets a hot rice on the plate. Sounds fuss free right!!

How To Make Red Thai Curry Paste or Namprik Gaeng Daeng At Home; Review Of Borosil Sumo Amaze

Foodelicious-Thai Red Curry Paste

Hello all!
In my last post of Tandoori Aloo Sandwich using Borosil’s Jumbo Grill, I had mentioned that I would be reviewing two more of the Borosil products. So here’s my review on Borosil’s Sumo Amaze which is a 750W mixer grinder. The third Borosil product review would be posted very soon.

The mixer grinder has a neatly designed body made of dual colour ABS plastic.

It comes with three food grade stainless steel jars for blending (1.5L capacity), dry grinding (1.2L capacity) and a wet grinding jar (400ml capacity). The jars have a better capacity as compared to the jars of the mixer grinder I have been using.

‘Tandoori Aloo Sandwich’ Using The Newly Launched Borosil Jumbo Grill: A Product Review

Foodelicious- Tandoori Aloo Sandwich
Hello!
Being a food blogger, I am not only trying to create and eat good food but also looking out to try various food related gadgets, appliances which I could use to make my cooking easier and better. Those could range from simple peelers to complicated electrical appliances. I use them all. Smile
Borosil, India,  is a well known name in the glassware industry, it being the pioneer. It is the market leader for laboratory glassware and microwavable kitchenware in India.
Recently, they have ventured into the manufacture of kitchen appliances. They sent me three of their kitchen appliances for product reviews.
To start off with, I am sharing the review of their latest launch into the Indian market, that’s the Borosil-Jumbo Grill. My regular readers know my penchant for the grill and the grill marks on the food I serve, especially the sandwiches and the seekh kebabs.

Product Review Of Vegit Snack Mixes | Raw Mango & Mint Chutney |Summer Food | Gluten Free | Dairy Free

DSC_6623.1

Hi all!!
Past one month my kitchen mixer was giving me trouble and I was not able to grind anything because of that. It was lying in the service centre, as a particular part which had got spoilt was not available. If one reads my previous posts one would realise I’ve not posted any recipe which makes use of the mixer grinder. I realised how much of my daily chores are dependent on the humble grinder.

मिश्र दालों की स्टफ़्ड खाण्डवी | Reena’s Stuffed-Mixed Lentils Khandvi & PaperBoat Drinks At a Glance | Step Wise

Foodelicious - Mixed Lentils Khandvi

Hi all!!

Unfortunately for me, I’ve turned quite a loner after moving into this city, which happened ages back, but the huge language constraint,  and the cultural difference has definitely prevented me from finding like minded friends here!

Though now I do have a small group of friends from the locality with whom I got connected through FB, but then that’s all of my social life here.

A few months back, longing for some social connect, and also driven by the inner urge to connect with school friends, I created a group on the WhatsApp. Gradually, many more friends from my batch joined there, where we have been able to walk down the school’s memory lane together!

Puro Fair Trade Coffee- A Product Review

DSC_4933.1

Hi All!

Those who have known me over the years and also my relatives would be surprised to see a review of coffee in my blog and might wonder whether my habits have changed. So just to reconfirm, I’m still a teetotaller and the only reason I’m reviewing this product is as ‘it’s a coffee with a cause; the cause of protecting the rain forests’. So, to inculcate a conscious, nature driven consumerism amongst my readers, I’m here with the review, as coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world and consuming Puro can bring in a change of conserving nature.

Why Puro Coffee?

We all love our Mother Earth and in our small ways we try to help protect it, whether it’s through saving electricity and water or it could be through planting trees. When Tamara of Puro Fair Trade Coffee approached me to ask whether I would like to review their products, I got instantly attracted to them for a few more reasons: i) It’s a  Fair Trade Coffee ii) They are actively working along with World Land Trust which is a UK based land charity, whose patron is Sir David Attenborough (I hope you would remember the famous movie Gandhi, it was directed by Richard Attenborough who happens to be  Sir David Attenborough’s brother) iii) It’s a shade grown Coffee and it also happens to be an Organic Coffee. One can read more about these qualities here.

SOS Pancakes, Stuffed Paneer N Spinach Paratha for The Review Of Fortune Rice Bran Health Oil

 DSC_3233-001
Hi All!
Last few days have been chaotic and messy, too many things happening and loads to finish with deadlines, the biggest of all the deadlines was finishing revision for the Final exams. The kid appears for his grade 7 exam and had a humongous syllabi to finish and every now and then was seeking my help. I’m taken for granted to clear his doubts and be around when he is studying as he hates being alone.
Besides this I had a carpenter and a plumber along with a mason working fulltime in my house past 4 days. My ears were deafened with all the knock knock and I was tired cleaning the house every now and then. And since all this was not enough my laptop started troubling and I was some how managing with the internet on my cell phone. I’ve a tough time when I’ve to do elaborate things using the cell phone.. Amongst all this mess the good thing that happened was that I received a 2litre can of Fortune Rice Bran Health Oil from BlogAdda with a smiley card along with it, that made my day. I am reviewing healthy heart oil as a part of the BlogAdda's Product Review Program for Indian Bloggers.

MTR Potato Cheese Balls ..a Product Review

DSC_1214
Hi!
Starters have become an important part of a meal when guests are invited and the lady in the kitchen, who not only cooks but works too, with her hands full, definitely wants to go for a quick and tasty starter. And if a ready mix is available then it is always welcome.
MTR a known name in food products have introduced  a snack mix under the category of  ‘MTR-Tasty Delights’ to help fix a starter in a matter of few minutes. The new product is called ‘Potato Cheese Balls’ and I must say the two words, ‘potato’ and ‘cheese’ are good enough to attract most of us.

Britannia NutriChoice Multigrain thins..a Critical Product Review

P1070276

Hi.

A few days back DH got a packet of Britannia Multigrain Thins to try out in his flight back home. After tasting it, he realised that this is what I would love to eat, so he got the packet back home and asked me to try it out. I asked him what it was and he explained that it’s a new product from Britannia, so the samples were given to the passengers for tasting in the flight.

He explained that it’s a baked product and is made of five grains. The first three adjectives i.e Britannia product, baked and five grains were good enough to catch my attention. I put the first piece in my mouth and my first reaction was ‘yummy’, this is so good and I finished the remaining packet in a matter of few minutes without sharing with anyoneWinking smile, and completely true to it’s punch line ‘Snack That Loves You Back’.

Lucozade Sport by GSK - A Product Review

P1030854

Lucozade Sport is a rehydrating drink to be launched by GSK (Glaxo-Smith and Kline) available in two flavors lemon and orange. Priced at Rs. 40 for a 200ml bottle it  surely attracts mostly the upper middle class cadre of customers.

I tasted both the flavors and personally liked the lemon. Both are citrus flavors and have a mild sweet and salty taste. It is an excellent drink for people who are into sports and also for school children during peak summer.

P1030855

It helps restore the glucose, water, electrolyte levels in the body and helps boost up stamina.

I would love to buy this surely in peak summer for kids and also once in a while after their soccer session. I personally thought of having it during my cursed days as this will surely give that extra energy which I am lacking that time. Surely worth giving it a try.

Foodles from Horlicks..a product review

P1030343
Hi Friends!
From now onwards product review will be a regular feature in my blog. People living in India might have seen the advertisement of Foodles from today.
I had tried this last week when Horlicks had passed on these samples to S. The name Horlicks brings in a lot of expectation as their health drinks are extremely popular and now after  tasting these Foodles, I can surely say that it’s going to a big success.
I tried the   curry and  ala masala flavors and both are good and the taste different and suitable for Indian palate. Priced at Rs. 15 for 80g pack which is an approachable price for Indian clientele, these are health packed, made with four grains- Ragi, Rice, Wheat and Corn.
Horlicks has surely targeted health conscious parents. It’s a different product made with multi grains, something which Indian market has not seen yet, so will surely attract people. It is a good source of proteins, fats and carbohydrates so is extremely good for growing children.
