‘ONLY’ EVENT FOR MARCH & COOKBOOK GIVEAWAY

Hi All!
The shortest month of the year is coming to an end. Yesterday was ‘Shivaratri’. It has been believed that Shivaratri marks the onset of summer and I can also feel the change in temperature. Though it’s still comfortable here but I know it’s going to bad and then worse in the coming months…
Coming to the next month’s event. A lot of people have converted to veganism by a conscious choice but there are people who are allergic to dairy products. Keeping such people in mind I’m throwing the next month’s challenge as ‘Only’ Dairy Free Cooking, which means one can’t use any animal product in their cooking; no eggs, milk, ghee etc.

A Peep Into ‘Around The World with Tadka Girls’ | Cookbook Review along With Recipes To Share | Winners Of ‘Only’ Event

DSC_6028-001.1
Hi All!
I’m back with yet another cookbook review and this time it’s very special as it’s a book written by two popular bloggers Ruchira and Ranjini from the popular blog Tadka Pasta.
I was initially approached by Ruchira Ramanujam  in last December for their book launch here in Westin but unfortunately I could not attend it as I was travelling. She approached me again about a month back asking whether I would be interested in reviewing the book and I was ecstatic to give a nod. I found the name of the book very interesting  and after reading the book realised that it was absolutely apt.

High Ultra Lounge–The Highest Food & Beverage Destination In South India | Restaurant Review

It was more than a week back that I along with Deepasri were invited for the pre launch bash cum review of a F&B joint located in the tallest building of South India, The High Ultra Lounge, a venture of Brigade Hospitality Services Limited (BHSL). The hosts flew us down to Bangalore and this time for a change, I was there in the city for my blog related work. We were only told that the place is conceptualised to be the food and beverage destination in Bangalore and is located on the roof top of Bangalore’s World Trade Centre.

We reached the venue on time and went up by an exclusive Glass lift to the 31st floor where the lounge is located. The lift offers a breath taking view of Bangalore. We were received warmly by Mr. Vineet Verma who is the Executive Director of Brigade Hospitality. While we made ourselves comfortable a refreshing Orange flavoured drink was served. It was almost sunset and we could see the neighbouring areas from that elevation. The ISKON temple seemed quite close by. Under the sky, up above the world with mellifluous music to hear, surrounded by  beautiful decor and ambience, I had already made a mental note that this place is soon going to become the crowning jewel for Bangaloreans and the tourists. It is a place which will draw your attention and will definitely set your mood right.

Kid’s Lunch Box Ideas-1 | Bi Coloured Flat Bread Variations- Chequered & Marbled | Step Wise | Vegan

DSC_5583.1
Hi all!!
I keep making variety of paratha/ flatbreads at home trying to incorporate veggies in various forms into them. One can find quite a few variations of parathas here. I prefer to make the parathas of high nutritive value, devoid of maida/ all purpose flour and using minimal oil.
A few days back while surfing the channels I  landed on a Marathi channel where a famous chef  whom I actually admire for his skills, was making a chequered paratha but I found the process quite messy and tedious. Also, the paratha didn’t have the neat chequers but I loved the  idea and hence, it kept surfacing in my thoughts.. I wanted to experiment with my version of flavours, also keeping the nutritive value high and most importantly, wanted to make a neat looking chequered flatbread.

Puro Fair Trade Coffee- A Product Review

DSC_4933.1

Hi All!

Those who have known me over the years and also my relatives would be surprised to see a review of coffee in my blog and might wonder whether my habits have changed. So just to reconfirm, I’m still a teetotaller and the only reason I’m reviewing this product is as ‘it’s a coffee with a cause; the cause of protecting the rain forests’. So, to inculcate a conscious, nature driven consumerism amongst my readers, I’m here with the review, as coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world and consuming Puro can bring in a change of conserving nature.

Why Puro Coffee?

We all love our Mother Earth and in our small ways we try to help protect it, whether it’s through saving electricity and water or it could be through planting trees. When Tamara of Puro Fair Trade Coffee approached me to ask whether I would like to review their products, I got instantly attracted to them for a few more reasons: i) It’s a  Fair Trade Coffee ii) They are actively working along with World Land Trust which is a UK based land charity, whose patron is Sir David Attenborough (I hope you would remember the famous movie Gandhi, it was directed by Richard Attenborough who happens to be  Sir David Attenborough’s brother) iii) It’s a shade grown Coffee and it also happens to be an Organic Coffee. One can read more about these qualities here.
