Platform Potato Curry(Batata Rassa)| StepWise .. and a few more awards….

Foodelicious-Platform Potato Curry

Hi!

This is one of the most hit recipes, made by my Mom! Me and my brother, we have grown up eating this wonderful curry and is a favourite with us !!

I have mentioned earlier too in my previous posts, that not only is my Mum  an excellent cook but she cooks very fast too.

She can cook for a big batch of people in a very short interval of time - an art, I am yet to expertise in! During my childhood, my father would unannounced bring guests home for lunch or dinner and she inspite of all her illness would feed people gladly and very efficiently.

Whoever has visited my Mum's place and has tasted her food, have always praised her culinary skills.
This is a very simple curry which can be made in a matter of minutes. It's been a favorite dish amongst all of us in my Mom’s family. Then when I got married and 'S' tasted it at my Mom’s place he liked it too! His verdict was that it tastes like the subzi served on the railway platform along with the poori and ever since then, we all call it the "Platform Curry".

Whenever my brother visits my Mom, he has to have this 'Rassa'. In Marathi a Curry preparation with a thinner gravy  is called 'Rassa'.

Simplest preparations are the most trickiest to make, is what I believe. It has taken me a few years to make it exactly like my mother and now it has become a  favorite with my family too.

I make it whenever there are unexpected guests or when there are no veggies in the fridge or when I am in a hurry or when I do not find any other reason! LOL.. yes, it’s made quite a few times..Winking smileIt tastes best when served with Poori /Jeera Rice/Chapati.
